
Kevin Betson
Flight Operations Support
Kevin's educational background includes a Bachelor
of Science degree from San Jose State University in
Aeronautical Engineering with an emphasis in Maintenance
Management, and a minor in Business Administration.
During this time in San Jose, Kevin was a Flight Instructor
at Pacific Piper providing instruction in everything
from Cessna 150's to Piper Navajos. Upon graduation
in 1986, he had accumulated over 3000 flight hours,
an Airframe and Powerplant certificate and a Learjet
Type Rating. His first job following his formal education
was flying DHC-6 Twin Otters for Trans World Express
out of Santa Ana, California. In 1988 he obtained a
position with the Koll Company real estate flight department
where he flew a Learjet 35 almost exclusively in international
operations. In 1995 he joined Toyota Motors/AirFlite
as a captain on a Falcon 50, progressing to lead captain
on the Gulfstream IV. He earned his Gulfstream V type
rating in October 1997 and a Global Express type rating
in August 1999, becoming one of the first pilots to
be dual type rated in the new generation of ultra-long-range
business jets. He has flown into all 50 states and
in over 80 countries worldwide in the past ten years
and has accumulated over 1200 hours in the Gulfstream
V. Kevin also assists Gulfstream Aerospace's Long Beach
facility with Gulfstream IV and V post completion,
technical appraisal and customer acceptance test flights.
